Description
The book was written by the CEO of SMART Project – Eng. D. Radosław Śliwka.
Companies are currently not competing on products but on operational excellence and supply chains. It is also becoming crucial to deliver the product required by the customer to the right place at the lowest possible cost.
The author’s experience in projects aimed at reducing the level of inventories in enterprises shows that the potential for savings, resulting from aware and methodical management of inventories is about 20-30% of the associated costs. Considering that a given product can be sold by different companies at a similar price, the sources of competitive advantage and profitability should be seen in the low costs of logistic processes.
Reducing the level of inventories and at the same time increasing the level of customer service have an impact on the profitability of enterprises. Therefore, the purpose of this book is to provide the knowledge of stock management that will allow making an informed choice of methods and tools translating into the best possible stockholding for their customers at minimum costs.
